January 2023 and Beyond - Longview Baptist Church is now apart of the Harvesters Food Pantry Network!
Longview Baptist Church has joined the Harvesters Food Pantry Network to provide assistance to the community. The church is proud to announce that it will now be hosting local food pantries every 1st and 3rd Sunday.
The decision to join Harvesters Food Pantry Network was made after realizing the need to help our community. The church's mission is to provide for those in need, and the partnership with Harvesters Food Pantry Network allows us to reach more people and make a greater impact. With the help of Harvesters, the church is able to provide more food, more often, to more people in need.
The food pantries at Longview Baptist Church are open to anyone in need in the community. No one will be turned away, and all visitors will be treated with respect and dignity. No I.D. is required.
The food pantries will be held every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, from 12:30pm to 3:30pm, in the church parking lot. The food distribution will be drive-thru style, ensuring that visitors can remain safely in their vehicles while receiving assistance. The Food Pantry will be closed if Lee’s Summit Schools and/or Longview Baptist Church will be closed due to inclement weather, holidays, or other various reasons.
Longview Baptist Church encourages members of the community to spread the word about the food pantries to ensure that those in need are aware of this valuable resource. Volunteers are also needed to assist with the food pantries, and anyone who is interested in volunteering can contact the church for more information.
The church is excited to be partnering with Harvesters Food Pantry Network and is committed to providing food assistance to the community on a regular basis. They hope that this partnership will help to alleviate some of the food insecurity in the area and provide support to those in need.

In August 2015 our Missions Committee elected to participate in "The Bucket Project: Hospice Kit" which is sponsored by Baptist Global Response. Our Longview Baptist congregation supported that decision by donating the items that were needed to fill five buckets. These Buckets were sent to Sub-Saharan Africa to help caregivers meet the needs of people in the last stages of terminal illness.
